Born in Norwich in 1943, David was a much loved only child of Ernest and Molly. Having completed 6 years at Nottingham University to become a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), he joined Royal Dutch Shell as a petroleum engineer and spent the next 32 years working hard to find oil all over the world. David first knew Jacquie as a fellow member of Great Yarmouth Swimming Club when he was 17 and Jacquie was 13, he met her again in 1967 - in his words - "she was a beautiful girl and very loveable" and he "snapped her up immediately"! They shared 55 loving and memorable years together, enjoying 3 children and then 8 grandchildren. He was a big character with lots of energy, always curious, always learning and was widely known for his great sense of humour. His presence is already very much missed by Jacquie and the whole family.
When we both enjoyed younger days on our travels times spent as a foursome were greatly enjoyed. Great memories! Keep busy!! All love, Stella xx
in memory of a nearly 70year friendship and good times.
